Getting Back On Task

My group plans to continue working on our soft sculpture project individually rather than in a group. We all originally had been each assigned a doll to work on with the help of our group members, however now we will be working on said sculptures alone. That doesn’t mean we will stop communicating, we will communicate via the internet and social media platforms.

What I have started on so far is an attempt to create a lazily made rubbish maquette. I plan to remake this and do it properly and not in a slacking way. I would like to make a polymer clay prototype, take it into photoshop, get its dimensions adjusting what needs to be made and produce a better maquette. Because of our current situation, I have more time on my hands to do things so getting this done shouldn’t be a problem.

My group member and friend Scout Baldwin discussed with our Teacher Erin Richburg on how we will be purchasing the supplies and how will they be acquired. Originally we were to make a list and make an order online, however, we were late in that department so we adjusted to buying our supplies from a fabrics store Joanne’s and elsewhere. The group planned to meet up in person at Joanne’s but that soon became a problem when the epidemic occurred. It was then settled we would gather the supplies we needed from online sources, with the budget of 50$ or less for each member. We would save our receipts with each purchase for the project and show them to our teacher to receive funds back.

My new goals for this project are to, create a new sustainable maquette, gather supplies for the project, and finalize my work. I plan to communicate with my team members through this process and guide them with any needed reassurance they need. We do still plan to incorporate technology in our pieces so communicating with each other will be important.
